Following Spring Break, we conducted a full inventory of all collected donations, surpassing 1,000 essential items gathered to support families in need in Cuba. This milestone reflected the strong participation and commitment from the campus community. Organized the preparation of donor appreciation items to recognize contributors for their support. Planned a group photo of all participants to capture and commemorate the initiative's impact. This experience served as a reminder that students are capable of accomplishing meaningful initiatives when they take action, including organizing an event that mobilized donations and delivered real support to those in need.

Impacts
Continued daily collection and organization of donations from the Advisement Office and campus collection points, ensuring a consistent and efficient process. With the support of Ms. Ana Soto, who provided access to her office space, all donations were centralized, stored, and organized in one location. Additional boxes and materials were brought in to properly manage and store all items. Donations were sorted and prepared to be individually counted and documented, while beginning to organize the final steps for packaging and transportation.
Expanded promotional efforts by actively distributing flyers across campus, posting them in high-traffic areas, and increasing overall visibility of the “Hope for Cuba” initiative. Continued outreach by engaging directly with students and encouraging participation. Began managing the intake of donations by collecting items from designated containers daily and transporting them to a central storage location for organization. Coordinated with campus administration to promote the initiative through official channels, including requesting visibility on campus screens and facilitating mass email communication to students.
Finalized the promotional flyer by refining its design and messaging to clearly communicate the purpose and impact of the “Hope for Cuba” initiative. Engaged with directives of MDC to explore a potential collaboration and the opportunity for the project to be recognized as part of the Changemaking initiative. Distributed flyers across campus and actively promoted the event to increase awareness and participation. Initiated the donation collection process by setting up the first collection containers, placing them in strategic locations, and organizing them to be clearly identified with the initiative.
Began developing the promotional flyer for the “Hope for Cuba” initiative while defining key logistical details of the donation process. Established where and how donations would be received, who would be responsible for collecting them, and how the process would be managed to ensure organization and efficiency. Additionally, developed ideas for donor appreciation, including ways to thank contributors.
Continued developing the “Hope for Cuba” initiative by seeking a faculty advisor to support the project and provide guidance. Structured the logistics of the event, including defining how donations would be collected, organized, and distributed. Established a clear plan by outlining roles, responsibilities, and timelines. Coordinated with student organizations to confirm participation and began preparing the project for its transition into the promotion phase.
This first week was the initial planning phase of the “Hope for Cuba” humanitarian initiative, by developing the first concepts and defining the overall vision of the event. Presented the idea to MDC staff and administrators to gather initial feedback. Exploring faculty support. This phase focused on shaping the foundation of the project and validating its direction.
