Michael Bednar

While I was growing up and in school I never realized how many students were disadvantaged and weren't in a position to benefit from the same opportunities that I did. It wasn't until recently that I learned more about the ways in which Black students have been marginalized and kept away from opportunities in school due to the systemic racism that our country faces. This workshop taught me a lot of the history and facts about education and equity, as well as gave me the opportunity to hear from other students who have actually experienced this education inequity in their lives.
