Today I learned about invasive species and how they can have a very bad impact on the native species of the area. We were working on a field in Hyattsville, Maryland, where they have a 3-year plan to remove all the invasive species of the area and leave it for the native species. We placed down woodchips on a path to smoother and kill the invasive species below then we removed vines that had pulled down a tree to the ground in order to prevent the vines from growing onto other trees and doing the same.
