    GW Community Response to COVID-19

I picked up groceries for my neighbor who has MS and is, therefore, immune comprised. I also helped her wipe them down after.

I have continued to pick up groceries for the same neighbor as I did last week. It took an hour and a half as I had to wait 40 minutes to get into Trader Joes.

I cooked a mushroom and scallop risotto for my mom tonight for dinner for 1.5 hours of community service.

I picked up groceries from my neighbor who is immune comprised and helped her wipe all of them down after with Clorox wipes. This took me an hour and a half as I had to wait for outside whole foods for 30 minutes before I could enter the building.

I created these three posters about Urban Sprawl and submitted them to Smart Growth America, an organization dedicated to smarter, cleaner, and more environmentally friendly urban planning and development.

    Martha's Table

Today I volunteered at the Food Prep shift at the Martha's Table located on 1474 Columbia Rd. NW Washington, DC 2009. During this shift, we made a tuna casserole that served 200 people. The tuna casserole was made of noodles, tuna, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, etc. We then proceeded to separate the casserole into 200 small boxes so that they would be ready to serve. I volunteered with my entire group during this shift including Claire Siwulec, Brooks Young, Noa Leiter, Tony Lutri, and Alex Goldhammer.

    Martha's Table

For this shift, I began by packing lunches for seniors. This included four different types of sandwiches, an orange, a muffin, and a hot meal. We then took a van to a senior citizen's home and started on the 10th floor and worked our way down, knocking on their doors and handing them their food. I am not sure which senior's home we went to but I volunteered through the Martha's Table on 1474 Columbia Rd. NW Washington, DC 20009. I wasn't with anyone else from my group during this shift, just other volunteers who did not attend GWU.
