I really enjoyed both Alexander Justice Moore's speech and the reflection session I was part of. It opened my eyes to so many new ideas, and I also got to express my thoughts on many topics I already have developed opinions on. Overall, it was a very enriching experience.
This was one of my favorite days volunteering! I was working with the man who seems to be in charge of the kitchen, and we got so much accomplished! I felt proud of how much we did and excited about how much food I helped produce.
I worked with some new DCCK employees this time!
It was super crowded today which was great because there were plenty of volunteers!
I asked one of the men I was working with how long he had been working at DCCK, and he said two years and told us all about his kids. It was a really enjoyable conversation, and I hope to have more like it.
Today I learned that 50% of the workers at DCCK are graduates of the training program!
