I grocery shopped for the same family I did the week prior. I went to Sprouts because it was less busy than Target or Walmart and I was able to get everything they needed again. The list included the necessities like eggs, bread, and milk, as well as a few recipes to make their meals for the week which included a taco tuesday!
I grocery shopped for a family with three young kids in my neighborhood. The dad is currently in law school so he had to attend his classes during the day and was not able to watch the kids, making it impossible for the mom to go get groceries by herself. I offered to go for them since I am not at risk and am able to go on my own. Some of the necessities like eggs and bread were still running low, but I was able to get everything they needed for the week, which included some popsicles because it is already hot in Texas.
I worked closely with Bryn most of today. We made chicken strips and green beans, as well as a few other things to help the kitchen run smoothly.
I was not quite sure what to expect walking in, but I ended up having a lot of fun. I spent a lot of my time moving food that had already been prepared into the freezer and other food out of it. I also made a massive amount of applesauce with another volunteer.
