Day eight of summer camp, took campers to Fia's Fabulous Finds (thrift store) and discussed sustainable fashion

Day four of camp, took students on field trip to Botanical Gardens
Third day of summer camp. Discussed meaning of climate change, food & water (in)security with campers. Went on a tour of the former residence of the Spanish Ambassador, which has been converted into an art exhibit related to water security and sustainability practices. Facilitated campers' writing of ekphrastic poems reacting to their experiences at the exhibit.
Second day of summer camp. Conducted skit and scavenger hunt related to recycling and sustainability practices. Made "seed surprises" with campers and walked around 14th street throwing flower seeds and soil into dirt patches to promote natural beauty in the surrounding community.
First day of summer camp. Met with and got to know students who we will be with for the next two weeks of programming. Participated in a number of fun activities, most notably a reading and writing workshop with author Tara Campbell. Set rules and expectations for the rest of the camp.
