For MLK day we went to the Morningside Fire Department in Maryland and we went around to Morningsides citizens houses, putting in free smoke detectors. Great Day with great people.
During the government shut down we helped clean up the trash left by patrons. It was a good time.
This day I did The night shift for the Mini Market at Martha's Kitchen. During this I helped the less fortunate grocery shop in the Mini Market that Martha's table has. Anyone that has food stamps can come to Martha's Table to get groceries that they need. I meet some many people and heard so many of their stories. This experience was so enlightening and will defiantly do it again.
During my time at Martha's Kitchen this day I did many things, I first started by preparing food for the kitchen staff. I cut zucchini, onions, and peppers to help prepare for dinner. Then I went and helped with the min market where I met many people thought the community and helped them pick out some groceries that they got with their food stamps from the government. I meet some great people through my experience and really enjoyed my time.
I did the food tidy up shift. During this experience I helped clean up the kitchen where they cooked food for the less fortunate. I meet really nice people during this experience and I will definitely do this again.
Absolutely loved working with DC greens. It was a beautiful day and a beautiful experience. We pulled weeds and cleaned up the garden to prepare it for the winter season. Gardening was super therapeutic and it was for a great cause. Will do again!
