I worked with Professor Scully and THEARC to clean up the river near THEARC. We picked up tons of trash, and pulled like five bikes and a shopping cart out of the river.
I worked at Station 10, where I helped set up a "Recycling Relay" game where we taught kids what was recyclable and what wasn't before having them form teams and choose an item from a box and discuss it with their team if they thought it was recyclable or not. After that, they ran to recycling and trash bins across the basketball court and put it in whatever bin they decided with their team before running back and cycling relay-style, hence the name. The kids were pretty familiar with what was recyclable and what wasn't, since the schools does recycling as well as composting, so it was cool and somewhat encouraging to see kids so engaged with environmentalism at such an early age.
I watered and weeded the plants, swept the floors and made eco-bricks as well.

I got bags of soil from the SEH Greenhouse and helped build ecobricks.
I watered and fertilized all the plants as well as the hay bales and sifted soil. I also pruned the plants and swept the floors to keep the place tidy.
