GW Operacion Impacto

DC Bilingual (DB) is a very great school. Every week I saw the teachers and other members of DB team with smiles on their faces and a positive attitude. Also when teachers are disciplining students they have conversations with students instead of yelling at them. This is very different from when I was in elementary school. DB also cares about the health of its students. Your students have access to fresh products 4 times a day. DB also has resources for the families of the students and the members of the community. Each month, in partnership with the Capital Area Bank, they transform the school into a food market where visitors have access to fresh fruits and vegetables. They have changed as I see a school and the role they should have in society. This school is interested in more than just the lives of the students. When I have children, I want to make sure that they are in a school committed to community participation like DB. Finally, working in school revealed to me how important educators are in society. When this class will be my last service learning class, this will not be my last time serving. Through serving this semester and last semester, I have come to the conclusion that it is important for all people to serve because we have the ability to make real differences in our communities. When the class is finished the work should not stop, because there is What a lot of work to do to ensure that this world is better for our children's children.
