It was wonderful to go into the school and make a difference by changing the environment. I took part in painting the banners for West Education Campus. As a group, we made sure the banner represented the cultures and backgrounds the students come from and we wanted them to feel welcomed. The majority of the students from West Education Campus spoke Spanish and Russian, therefore we translated hello and welcome, in these languages on the banners while incorporating the school colors. Representing the cultures and making sure the students feel inclusive is an integral part of their education, and I am fortunate enough to take part in it on MLK Day of Service.
