Fall 2019 Nashman Center Symposium on Community Engaged Scholarship
Miriam’s Kitchen

First time doing inventory— I didn’t realize that the Farmer’s Market at Foggy Bottom donated a lot of their unsold produce to Miriam’s. There were many squashed, potatoes, cabbages, peppers, tomatoes, onions, and more.

Gave 2.75 hours on 11/27/2019 with George Washington University, engageDC, Community-Engaged Scholarship, Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, SOCY 2105 Social Problems in America
Miriam’s Kitchen

Making the salad, cooking the bacon, and preparing the sandwiches with other regular and new volunteers was fulfilling. MK provides dignified and delicious meals to its guests.

My first time in the dining room this fall— we were short on volunteers so it was a bit stressful but went well. Compliments on oatmeal from guests, croissants nice supplement to omelettes
