Today we had ECC come in and do a demonstration with one of their raptors, Mr. Hoots. We were able to pet the owl which was so soft. At the end, mentors said goodbyes as we prepared to head home for the summer.

Today we had puzzle day so we worked in groups to see which group could put the puzzle together the fastest. Afterwards, the mentors talked to Mr. Joseph about the program while the mentees made lemonade.

Today I worked with Bri on her Achieve3000 articles and we had a really productive and successful day -- she reached her article goal and passed each one! Afterwards, the Dream Kids and mentors competed in a life-size crossword puzzle outside.

I went to the documentary session. They showed one on the SA President, one about sexual abuse in the Catholic diocese, and one about a trans sex worker in DC. I liked the one about the catholic diocese most because I had more background knowledge on that than the others. Also, the lasting impact it has and the things it has bright into question about the Catholic Church really resonated with me, especially as a Christian.

This was the set-up for the Equal Access Panel. I met Liz from DCCK, who I hadn't met before, and heard a little bit about her story that she didn't explicitly state during the panel.

This was the vex stop fundraiser we held on Wednesday. We had raised about $85 by the end of the event so that was awesome!

I helped bake stuff for the bake sales in Kogan and the Vex Stop. We made so so many cookies and cupcakes. We actually made vegan and gluten free stuff which I had never done before that was an experience I hadn't had before.

Over Easter weekend I went home and while I was there I helped my grandmother with her non-profit. They had just received a large request for items that another group needed for the over the winter so I helped her and the other members sort the items that had already knitted/crocheted by size and color. They were making hats, gloves/mittens, and scarves for the low-income kids in the area.
