As part of a sustainability research project, my classmates and I continued research and engaged the community with a mission of determining air pollution concerns and make recommendations for the communities of Fairfax Village and LeDroit Park.
I helped clean up the Washington Sailing Marina, which has accumulated trash from the Potomac. It was a great experience and it is really nice to see the marina looking much cleaner.
My fellow classmates and I visited the Fairfax Village and LeDroit Park communities and discussed with their members the involvement of GW air quality sensors around their neighborhoods for data collection purposes. We will continue to engage with these communities to determine the best way to accomplish this task and potential strategies for reduced air pollution in the future.
