I was able to do a cleanup at the Washington Sailing Marina organized by members of our team. We were able to give back to the sailing community and help improve the overall quality of the Potomac River.
I attended the Fairmont (Accor Hotel Group) Executive Panel Discussion in the Media and Public Affairs building on campus. The panel consisted of members from the Accor Hotel Group and students looking to learn more about the hospitality industry. They spoke on new trends in the hospitality industry and where they believe it is headed in the next 10 years. It was an interactive discussion where many students were able to raise questions on the different aspects about whether or not you're the right person for that industry. It was really interesting to hear the different perspectives of students as well as from the professionals leading the discussion.
Over winter break, a few teammates and I participated in a local beach clean up at Pigeon Point Beach in Tobago. We interacted with the surrounding local community, and put all of our efforts towards assisting them in making their community a cleaner place. Together we collected over 50 bags, and really valued the time we spent helping the local community.
Our team got together 3 baskets for colonial harvest!
