We completed a CPR training course with GW EMERG. We are all now trained and prepared to help others if they are in trouble and need CPR or first aid.
We were able to collect and dispose of nearly 50 full trashbags full of trash from along the Potomac River, including glass bottles, styrofoam, plastic bags and other items that cannot decompose and are a burden on nature. Feels very good to know we are potentially saving some animals by doing this cleanup.
Visited different rooms with community engagement topics and learned about the service they did and how we can get involved.
Volunteered with kids K-8 working to put food waste in the proper receptacle and reduce waste at Francis Stevens.
Coordinated with Ali Brolin, at firstname.lastname@example.org
Signed the sigma chi bench and donated money to support Cancer research.
I helped clean up the Washington Sailing Marina, which can run off into the Potomac River. It was great to prevent some of that trash from affecting the river's ecosystem. It was a great experience and it is good to see the marina cleaner, hopefully it will stay that way for a while.
