It has been to grow with the interns and start the Save Our Scholarships: Ban Scholarship Displacement movement. I can't wait to see how our events and rally go!

Working at Miriam's is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done. I truly love interacting with the guests, chefs, case mangers, security guards, etc. Being able to serve 3 times a week really allows me to see the differences Miriam's makes on a daily and weekly basis. As I continue to show up, the more responsibility and trust the supervisors give me, which has allowed me to see how Miriam's operates from new and different perspectives.

I have finally been able to get back in the kitchen and it was such a great feeling. I love that Miriam's allows to serve in so many different facets. It was lovely to be back with my favorite chefs and joke around whilst also serving and talking with the guests.

This was another great week at Miriam's! As the week progressed, we got more clothing and toiletry cart donations, so we were able to meet more of the guests' needs. I also found out that one of our long time guests and someone I consider a friend finally got housing! It's times like these that I really feel that the work we're doing is making an impact and we're getting closer and closer to finally solving this issue.

I feel as though we have reached a breakthrough with the students were they're starting to really trust and confide in us. It is so amazing to see them grow each week and see the difference our program is making. I am so grateful to be a part of such an amazing organization.

It has been amazing to see the remarkable growth the students have been making each week. The college tour was an amazing opportunity for them to truly see what they do and don't want in a University.

Today was my first official day at site and was a great experience. I started off with watching a Title IX presentation in action, then went to the advocacy office to critique it and see what we could add to make it more effective. I was also introduced to the staff and got a tour of the office. This was overall a very productive use of my time.

I have loved being back and being able to work with the Miriam's Kitchen family again. It's been great to see familiar faces get housing and progress out of their former situations. It's so sad to see how low on supplies we have been for the past month, so I am thinking about getting my cohort to do a donation drive through GW.

    Office of Advocacy & Support

I have really enjoyed working at the Office of Advocacy and support in conjunction with the Title IX office thus far. One thing that has been important is knowing I wanted to work in that office to begin with and continue to do so. I knew that I represented populations on campus that were neglected when it came to having access to the resources both of these offices provide. So far, we have held events on campus and given presentations. Many people have come up to us and have thanked us for the information and told us how they didn't know even know the office existed. It feels as though we're making a real difference and challenging the current culture.

This was a wonderful training where I learned a lot when it came to the proper language used and the process involved. I am very excited to start officially working on site!
