I helped serve dinner at the Patricia Handy Place for Women. I really enjoyed being able to volunteer with other members of Humanity First. This opportunity not only connected me to the DC community, but also allowed me to make connections with my GW peers.

I worked alongside my teammates to create a stress-free and relaxing environment for the teachers at Turner Elementary School. I mainly focused on covering the walls in wall paper and re-organizing the furniture in an aesthetically pleasing way.
I volunteered at the Patricia Handy Place for Women. I helped serve dinner, with my fellow club members. It was a very pleasant experience and I enjoyed interacting with the women. They were all very thankful that I was spending time helping out their community.

The women were extremely appreciative of my help and were very eager to speak with me regarding political issues, given my interest in political science and criminal justice. I would encourage anyone to volunteer with this organization.
