I served dinner at the Patricia Handy Place for women. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity to help those less fortunate than myself. The women were extremely appreciative of my help and were very eager to speak with me regarding political issues, given my interest in political science and criminal justice. I would encourage anyone to volunteer with this organization.
I worked alongside other members of the Humanity First Student Organization club to serve dinner to the women at the Patricia Handy Place for Women. It was an extremely rewarding experience to get to see the appreciation the women have for others that are willing to help.
I volunteered alongside my teammates at the annual Cherry Blossom Run in Washington, D.C. I was assigned to the post-race refreshments station. I was given the task of filling up water and gatorade cups and then distributing them to the runners. It was a very enjoyable experience, as the other volunteers as well as athletes were very friendly. I will certainly take part in this event in the years to come.
I volunteered at the Malcom X elementary school with other students in the community. Once we arrived, we were assigned specific groups with various tasks. My main contributions to the school were cleaning and organizing the teachers' lounge.
I worked alongside my teammates to remove weeds from the produce beds of DC Greens. It was an amazing experience to get to work with my team to help the other volunteers of the nonprofit organization.
