    Brianna @ Loop Volunteers

Loop is a a company built to inspire and empower, by creating a platform for people to serve and use their God-given gifts and abilities. Our vision is to build a community of people who love the Lord and selflessly serve others out of the overflow of their relationship with Christ. They work with artists & non- profits to provide the best volunteers for their tours and events.

At this event worked to help audience members sign up to become child sponsors. I handed out child packets throughout club/theatre during the show and at the table in the lobby.

I really liked this opportunity because it gave me the chance to take something I'm really passionate about and educate others about it. Children International is an amazing program focused on making a long-term impact by helping kids living in poverty. They have a bold vision: graduating healthy, educated, empowered and employed young adults from our program so they can achieve the goal of breaking the cycle of poverty. This program is close to my heart, and I would love to be a part of getting more sponsors for the program.

Today, I received the training to being an LSF tutor and also tutored a 2nd grader named Matthew. I really enjoyed working with my tutee and meeting some of the other volunteers. It was exciting to become more engaged in the DC community and to see some of the faces that make up the latino student population. I saw that the kids there were happy and ready to learn. The system was organized and productive.

I worked very hard to raise over $700 for the Catholic University Polar Plunge 2019 Event. I have previously worked with Special Olympic DC with our first annual Unified Kickball game, so it was really fun and fortunate to be able to be part of another SODC event. Polar Plunge involved working with SODC athletes and actually plunging into a pool of ICE cold water to show our support. It was a great experience and I look forward to possible putting together a similar event here at GW.

    Special Olympics DC

GW Women's Soccer hosted the first annual Unified Kickball Event with various special olympics athletes from DC and Northern VA. Unfortunately, I was injured so I was not able to play with the athletes in the tournament but I cheered from the sidelines and walked with the teams to get lunch. It was so fun getting to meet all the athletes and learn a little bit about their lives. I could see that the event really meant a lot to each and every one of them. Megan did an amazing job setting up the whole tournament and I'm glad I got the opportunity to play a small role in the day. Go Special Olympics!

I worked at the Brest Cancer Awareness Table for the Brest Cancer Awareness mens soccer game. We collected donations for one of the Mens soccer team's family foundation. It was a nice time not only learning more about the foundation and the ways it works to raise the awareness and funds needed to fight Brest cancer, but it was also a good chance to talk to new people and invite them to watch the game or look into the family foundation.

It was nice to give back to some of the other freshmen moving into their Thurston dorms. My whole team and I loaded boxes, blankets and pillows, and everything in between in dorms. It was hard work but it was nice to be working together as a team as well as helping families move in their students.
