At The Store, we would move food products from the parking lot of District House to The Store which is located in the basement of District House. We would then unpackage the food products and organize them on the shelves. All food that wasn't put on the shelve would be put into the refrigerator. If we weren't organizing food we would be cleaning The Store. This would consist of sweeping the floors or wiping down the inside of the refrigerator. It was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone.

At Martha's Table, I helped set up the market at their new facility in Stanton Square called "The Commons." It is one of their newest facilities that was built last year. Here I helped set up there market that they hold every Friday. I set up 8 baskets and each basket was a different kind of food. The people who collect the food would come around were able to either take one or two of the items depending on what it said on their paper. After that, I helped make to-go bags for people and then helped clean up. Overall a great experience and looking forward to going back there.

Helped clean up Rock Creek Park. Picked up trash and anything else that was diminishing the beauty of Rock Creek Park. Bob HOBART lead the cleaning up of the park.
I helped collect food from Hungry Harvest and organized it within The Store. We got fresh fruits and vegetables from Hungry Harvest and put them in the refrigerators. They would later be taken by those who needed the food. It was a great experience and I would recommend it to anyone as you are directly serving the community.

Working at SOME was a great experience. I learned a lot about the people that reside outside of Foggy Bottom and Georgetown area. The first thing we did when we got there was clean the tables from the breakfast session and put silverware for lunch. Next Jesus and I were put into the washing room where we would clean the cups and dishes from the two lunch sessions. Finally, we helped tidy up the place where finished after that. It was a great experience and I recommended SOME to anyone who wants to serve the community in the D.C. Area.
