Two of my teammates and I volunteered with Martha's Table an organization that provides individuals and communities suffering from food insecurity with much needed support. Community engagement opportunity: helping SACC, as a team we helped out SAAC set up for a water pong event. We carried tables, set up floor mats, and prepared everything necessary for the event
Every year on our training trip during January break we volunteer at the community gardens in DeLand Florida. This area is underserved and is classified as a food desert. We pull weeds, dig holes, plant seeds, and do other common garden tasks.
As a team we volunteer with the on campus food bank which helps members of our community suffering from food insecurity get access to much needed support. We carry boxes, stock shelves, and make sure that the place is organized and clean.
