worked with the GWU sailing team to clean up the marina and public parks nearby where we and many others sail and do other recreational activities.
I shoveled snow from driveways of elderly neighbors. It is required that each household shovel their driveways to create a safe pathway for the public to walk, and I helped multiple neighbors shovel their driveways and keep them clear throughout the snowstorm.
Marina Clean up. contributing to the overall health and cleanliness of the community who use the Potomac river and the ecosystem itself. contributing and giving back to the resources we use is essential to the sport.
I attended a showing of In Guerra Per Amore with the Società di Cultura Italiana with free pizza. I have a few friends of Italian heritage who are members of the club. The movie was about American and local Italian groups working together to fight off the nazi's in Italy during WWII. After the movie was over I had the opportunity to talk with some of the members of the club and discuss the Italian perspective of WWII and how they learned about the war through their families. It was interesting to see how history is viewed by different cultures and by people with different expierences. True Italian pizza is also definitively better than American pizza.
