In this event, the GW Swim/Dive team took advantage of our day off to clean up trash around the monuments. It was a beautiful day out so it was good to get outside and clean up our communities. We received many compliments from people as we cleaned, and it was good to do something beneficial for the community. I hope our team can do more activities like these in the future.
I help cleaned the Anacostia River with fellow students and picked up trash along the trail and also by the riverbed.
Very nice people and a good way to give back.
In this experience, I was able to move people in on their first day of school. I forgot to put this in earlier, but together in teams of about 5, we went around campus helping people move into their dorms, we took the stairs which made it much more challenging, but was a great way to bond with people on campus. I hope to do it again next year! It was really rewarding to listen to other people about why they chose GW and what they are looking forward to this year, it also helped me see familiar faces on campus.
