About

A fiercely proud DMV native, I am driven by service to the community whose oft-overshadowed cultural richness and vibrant personalities have fundamentally shaped my outlook on what a society that cares for the wellbeing of its neighbors should resemble. As a current senior at the George Washington University pursuing a B.S. in neuroscience with a minor in linguistics, my goal is to use my studies and service to understand why poverty, racial disparities, health inequalities, and other issues persist in the DMV.

Such a great day spending time learning about many different organizations, such as TAPS and LPTM, and hearing different perspectives during workshops! The addresses at the beginning of the day were amazingly inspirational!!!

Volunteer Opportunities at DC Central Kitchen

Volunteering at DCCK does more than prepping food for those who need them --- it builds a community of people who wholeheartedly and unconditionally care about others' wellbeing and about building each other up, and I am proud to have been able to be apart of it, even if only for a few hours!

The idea of spending three hours on your feet doing food prep originally seems daunting, but the time certainly flies by as I got to talk with the others around me, discussing how the work we're doing really makes a difference! Makes the whole experience worthwhile!
