Like last time, volunteering with Food & Friends was an amazing experience and I hope to come back soon!
My friend and I got to work alongside a group of middle school students who had partnered with Food & Friends as their service partner for this school year. The middle schools were so sweet, and I could tell that they looked up to us and were very curious about college life. They were all a bit shy, but occasionally they would crack a secret joke or two and get a bit sidetracked from giggling, which made my experience much more entertaining
As I expected due to my past experience here, the staff were warm and welcoming and seemed incredibly appreciative of our help. Volunteers are given snacks and coffee, and we were even offered a few samples of homemade pies that Food & Friends sells to community members as an annual fundraising event. We were supervised by the same woman that we worked with last time, and she seemed to be a bit relieved that we had some experience packaging this food already, so she would not have to spend as much time training us.
I truly love volunteering here and feel that the work I do is very needed and valued, and I hope to come back again during the holiday season.

Had an amazing volunteer experience packaging meals at Food & Friends in Fort Totten! I went with my best friend Anna, and we had so much fun helping the compassionate and friendly volunteers prepare meals to be sent out for the week.

Volunteering with Food & Friends was an amazing experience and I hope to come back soon! The staff was all so warm and welcoming, and my friend and I got to work alongside a group of Wells Fargo employees who were doing a workgroup bonding event. We learned so much about the need for meal delivery services to underserved populations in the DC area, and I was so glad to see how well the organization catered to each and every dietary restriction. This place is great!
