I can take a paper or two!
I thoroughly edited and left essay writing advice on two senior papers, one regarding transgender rights in the U.S. and the other regarding portrayal of Hispanic people in U.S. media. The two papers differed greatly in the style of writing, quality of research, and level of organizational and argumentative cohesion. Although I dedicated a whole evening to both students, I spent much more time editing the latter paper to make sure that the writer had ample explanations of my edits along with sample sentences and structures to employ in her future writing samples.
I edited and provided feedback on two students' papers.
I spent an hour each on two 10-page papers written by high schoolers at School Without Walls. Both explored rather dense topics and addressed a variety of angles on said topics. I read through the content of each essay while reflecting on how they score on the rubric given to me. I gave them both full marks on the rubric, but had specific recommendations on structure and content to supply to the students. Thus I wrote 5-6 pages of bullets total between both papers and emailed them back to gwserves@gwu.edu for the students to read and consider in improving their already solid essays.

I engaged in leadership and service by working with the nonprofit organization Global Guru by providing free, live, supplementary tutoring to students in grades K-12.
