Had a great time working with teammates to help organize Malcolm X elementary.
We helped all around the school with organizing and making posters and things to help make learning fun for the students.
It was wonderful to visit the African American Civil War Memorial Museum. We helped mulch the plants outside the museum and also walked to Howard University to learn about the civil war history and prominent African American figures.
Great experience preparing materials for learning. Shows that small acts like this make such a big difference.
It was really great to be able to work with both the women’s and men’s soccer team together, and all put forth our best efforts to get what was needed to be done! I enjoyed seeing everyone’s end product and knowing this will make a difference in the children’s experience at their school.
I had a great time helping out Malcolm X Elementary school. It was great to be in the school and see that what we were doing was going to positively impact the kids and take pressure away from administrators.
It was great helping the community and making a difference in peoples lives
It was a great opportunity to branch out of Foggy Bottom and help an elementary school that was having trouble finding parent volunteers
I was able to clean and organize the Art room and Art closet to ensure that the students can access all of their supplies and to allow them to apply their creativity to their fullest extents.
It was a fun experience!
I had a great Time in helping decorate Malcom X with exciting black history month posters and helping the school become just a little bit more orangized and clean.
It was nice to help out a pre-school to hopefully help the kids have a better experience.
Made posters with my teammate for their sockhop and also helped organize their books and other textbooks
I thought it was very insightful. I learned about AIDS in DC.
I really enjoyed my experience and giving back to the community, it gives me another perspective on what I can do to help those in need
