I enjoyed working with Danial and the other students and tutors at the Prince George's County location of the Latino Student Fund. I felt the Latino Student Fund did a great job of fostering a safe space for the education of students and allowing the students to focus on their academics and take their mind off other things in life that may be currently affecting them.
Worked on sorting though clothing looks for professional clothes that are interview ready. Also sorted, and organized jackets and put clothes on display.
For this practice we played capture the food groups, where the kids were tasked with capturing flags from the other team that had a variety of foods written on them. The foods were grouped into food groups by color and afterwards we discussed which kinds of foods were in which group and why it is important to maintain a balanced diet.
