This was my first time going to the Store, and I was so happy I could lend my services to an unsung service on campus. I restocked food items, cleaned around the food pantry, and helped with trash clean up. As a student who has often worried about how food insecurity might affect me at GW one day, it was comforting to know there is a safety net available that provides not only nonperishable food products, but professional clothing, sanitary products, and fresh food items as well.

Today at the teen center I met some other volunteers from Howard University. I also reunited with one of my favorite teens there, Jonathan! I was so happy to see him, and more volunteers from my university came today and helped out! Gabriella, the team leader, worked on making bracelets with some teens, and a poster for the mailbox project. Two of the other volunteers from GWU joined me, Jonathan, and another teen in playing monopoly. Then one went to play with some of the boys in other games like air hockey, foosball, pool, etc. A volunteer from Horward was making and serving out pancakes, sausages, and eggs for fun Friday. Overall today went really well, and we were all able to use/play to our own strengths in hanging out with almost every kid at the center.
