NAMI Northern VA

NAMI Northern Virginia is the Northern Virginia local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, the nation's largest grassroots mental health organization dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Founded in 1977 as Pathways to Independence, we joined the newly formed "National Alliance on Mental Illness" in 1979 and thereafter changed our name to NAMI Northern Virginia.

NAMI Northern Virginia offers classes, support groups, and other services to individuals living with mental health conditions and their families and friends at no cost to participants. We also provide public presentations to raise awareness and educate within our community. We serve the Northern Virginian counties of Arlington, Fairfax, and Loudoun and the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, and Falls Church.
