The National Children’s Museum is a children's museum and science center in downtown Washington, D.C. It serves children and their families through interactive exhibits exploring science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

You never know what you may find around the corner: a design challenge, collaborative art project, or science experiment. Location and content of activities change almost daily and are fun for all ages.

Read along, sing, and play! We invite our smallest dreamers (ages 1-3) to investigate colors, numbers, and more every Wednesday and Friday, 10:00-10:30am.

Drop in for more family fun on select Saturdays and dive deeper into science, technology, engineering, art, and math. Recommended for ages 4-12.
sensational sensory mornings
Looking for a quieter, less crowded experience? On select Saturdays, the Museum opens its doors early for children with sensory sensitivities or developmental disabilities and their families. Trained staff and additional resources are available year-round to support all visitors.
