Question #1 Which showcase presentation was most impactful to you and why?
The presentation about the National Wildlife Federation was powerful and informative because it made me realize the negative impact we have on our planet and the things that need to change so we don't permanently damage our planet even more
Question #2 Which of the six sessions did you attend from 2:30-3:30? In your session, what was something new you learned about community-engaged scholarship?
I attended the session about sustainability. In the session, I learned about how easy it is to make a difference in our community and that if every person was a little more aware and caring and participated more, we could solve a lot of society's problems.
1. The most impact presentation was the overall presentation led by Sejal. There was a panel of two others who talked about the impact that service has not only done for them, but helped them grow academically and professionally. I never realized the volunteering and service could have on students in the long run.
2. I attended the Spanish and literature presentations. Students taking the course made their own videos about the service they went to, which were mostly tutoring Latinos to learn to read and write. Some of these people they helped did not even know how to write in the own language or spell their own name. I learned about the community engaged scholarship is meant to help students financially with their service.
Question #1:
After listening to a number of different presentations, one that stood out to me was about GW’s relationship with the city. These students’ presentation had an impact on me because it was an area I hadn’t given much thought to before, and how important it is for an institution to have a good relationship with their community, town, or city.
Question #2:
The session I attended from 2:30-3:30 was the Social Change as Good as Business session in the Continental Ballroom. Something new I learned was how influential service can be to the business community, as well as the ways we as students can contribute and give back to others, and the opportunities that come with that.
Question #1
The most impactful showcase presentation was the one about inadequate housing in Ward 5, and how gentrification can be a possible solution. The presentation was really clear and organized. I liked how they added a poll at the end of the presentation, which helped me think about the positive and negative influence of gentrification.

Question #2
I went to Sejal's Beyond Service - Social Change as Good Business in the Continental Ballroom. I learnt that there are a lot of social problems like waste of food that need to be addressed. Attending a non-profit organization can not only grant me an internship experience but also promote positive impact on my community.
Question #1: I listened to several presentations in different rooms, and one of them stood out to me. It is about whether or not to do gentrification in certain areas in D.C. There are pros and cons for that, and after the presentation, it feels like the cons are over pros. Because doing gentrification is going to raise the price level and there are lots of seniors live in those areas plus they don't have a lot of money.

Question #2: From 2:30 to 3:30 everyone was in the Continental Ballroom and there were two panelists sharing their own personal experiences on serving the community. We had a discussion about business leadership in the community and service impact on the business community.
Question #1
The showcase presentation that was most impactful to me was the one where three film students showed us their documentaries. This was impactful because they dove into topics that were often forgotten in society and they brought light to things that need to be addressed and simply aren't..
Question #2
Of the six sessions, I went to Sejal's. Something new that I learned about community engaged scholarship was the amount of resources that the university provides to help us make a difference both on our own and in the business world.
