The Institute's A-STEP After-School Tutoring and Enrichment Program provides free tutoring to students whose parents cannot afford a tutor to support their academic needs to prevent school failure and/or school dropout. The A-STEP Program also provides college prep and mentoring support to high school students by assisting them in applying for scholarships to avoid large student loans and teaching them the writing process to assist them in writing applications for college.
The Institute also provides a 3 tiered Program at the Elementary Grade School Level. Students Grades PreK-4 to Grades 8 are provided After-School Tutoring as well as Academic Enrichment and After-Care. Students are assisted with homework, as well as skills development and remediation during the school year. The A-STEP Academic Enrichment and Summer Bridge Program is offered for 6-8 weeks in the summer, with academics for reinforcement and skills deficits improvement, as well as to prevent regression. Afternoons consist of students' engagement in field trips with applied academics.
