In order to support strong families, strong children, and strong communities in Washington DC, Martha's Table relies on the support of over 200 volunteers each week.

At Martha’s Table, we believe that every Washingtonian deserves the opportunity to thrive. For 42 years, we’ve been committed to advancing a more equitable Washington, D.C. We stand firmly alongside Washingtonians day-in and day-out on both sides of the Anacostia River by operating nationally accredited education programs, pairing healthy food access with physical and mental health services, and promoting family success by investing in family leaders.

Volunteer Programs include...

Joyful Grocery Bagging (Max 15 Volunteers, M-F, 9-12 PM and 1-4 PM)

Martha's Outfitters Clothing Support (Max 4 Volunteers, M-F, 9:30-12:30 PM and 12:30-3:30 PM) 

Maycroft Market and Kitchen Support (Max 6 Volunteers, M-F, 10-1PM and 12:30-4PM)

Weekend Food Prep Support (Max 4 Volunteers, Sa-Su, 12PM-3:30PM) 

McKenna's Wagon Support (Max 4 Volunteer Helpers + 1 Driver, 365 days a year, 4:30PM-7PM) 

Joyful Food Markets (Max 10 Volunteers, See Calendar for dates and times) 

Please note that we have multiple locations, so please make sure to check the volunteer calendar for the location of your shift and transportation details.

You are welcome to sign up above and join as an individual an/or one time volunteer, or reach out to volunteer@marthastable.org to schedule group and/or regular on-going volunteer opportunities.

We do not require background checks or training prior to volunteering, but please read the volunteer description in full to review our dress code and arrive promptly for an onsite orientation.
