About

The Humanitarian Working Group (HWG) is a GW faculty-led working group, formed with the primary objective of identifying opportunities for students, faculty, and staff to make a meaningful impact to address conditions in the Middle East, which could be applied to other global humanitarian crises. To achieve this goal, the HWG is collaborating closely with the GW Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service to establish partnerships with selected NGOs and other humanitarian organizations.

These partnerships focus on organizations that offer both advocacy and life-saving support around the world. Through these collaborations, the HWG aims to create a range of engagement opportunities for the GW community, including research projects, marketing activities, internships, and volunteering opportunities.

Ongoing humanitarian crises in this region has affected people around the world, including the GW community and as a result, many students, faculty and staff are eager to get involved and contribute their efforts to find solutions to these crises.

By facilitating these engagement opportunities, GW aims to empower its community members to contribute meaningfully to humanitarian efforts, fostering a sense of global responsibility and active citizenship. Through this comprehensive approach, GWU is not only responding to immediate crises but also preparing its community to address future humanitarian challenges with compassion, knowledge and practical skills.
