About
The GW Department of Geography and Environment has been incorporating OpenStreetMap (OSM) in our GIS/Digital Mapping curriculum since about 2011. These contributions support humanitarian campaigns and efforts by organizations such as USAID, IFRC, MSF, YouthMappers and others.
Many students continue to support and contribute to OpenStreetMap beyond their coursework, independently or through the Humanitarian Mapping Society at GW (#HMSGW). This organization is a founding chapter of YouthMappers.
To report your own service with OpenStreetMap through coursework, student organizations, or independently, click Add Impact and respond to the prompts. You will need to estimate your time and briefly describe your activities. A tutorial is available here.
