DC Central Kitchen: Direct Service Opportunity

Open Opportunity

About

DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) is an iconic nonprofit and social enterprise that combats hunger and poverty through job training and job creation. The organization provides hands-on culinary job training for individuals facing high barriers to employment while creating living wage jobs and bringing nutritious, dignified food where it is most needed. DCCK’s social ventures include serving scratch-cooked farm-to-school meals in DC schools, delivering fresh, affordable produce to corner stores in neighborhoods without supermarkets, and operating a fast-casual cafe.

Join DC Central Kitchen in the CoBank Volunteer Zone for daily morning shifts starting at 9am and weekday evening shifts from 6 – 8pm. Sign up now via their online Volunteer Portal.

DC Central Kitchen volunteers work alongside their devoted front-line staff and Culinary Job Training students to cut, chop, peel and prep fresh produce as they prepare balanced meals for our community. Volunteer shifts are available for registration up to 3 months in advance. No cooking or food service experience required!

Volunteers must be 12 or older, and sign our General Liability and Waiver form. Those under the age of 18 are required to have a parent/legal guardian sign the waiver form.
