Rose Williams of the institute of Trauma Informed Care at University Health https://www.universityhealth.com/health-wellness/institute-for-trauma-informed-care/training will present an introduction to ACE, that is Adverse Childhood Experiences, the impact of trauma, and an overview of the key elements to build the foundation of trauma-informed care. This will be with the Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense - Bexar County https://momsdemandaction.org/ first monthly meeting of 2023 with opportunities to learn of the local objectives for the year and to consider joining volunteers concerned about gun violence.

 

The Institute for Trauma-Informed Care at University Health is the training entity for the Trauma-Informed San Antonio Project, which brings Trauma-Informed teachings. The objectives are to:   

1) provide community awareness and education on Trauma-Informed Care approaches2) Train using evidence-based programs like the ACE Interface material used today. 3) And assist with organizational readiness through training and collaboration in the certification processCollaboration partners are key leadership from the City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District and the South Texas Trauma-Informed Care Consortium (Children’s Shelter,  Voices for Children, and San Antonio Metro Health Department) https://stxtraumainformedcareconsortium.org/. Working together to transform San Antonio into a trauma-informed community!
