About

Come get your hands dirty helping to get the FoodPrints garden ready for classes this fall at School Without Walls at Francis Stevens. Head home afterwards with a few volunteer hours, some new garden skills, and perhaps a bit of local produce!

DCPS Clearance is NOT required for this volunteer opportunity.

What to bring:
  • full water bottle
  • mask
  • garden gloves if you have your own pair
  • cardboard boxes -- broken down, tape removed (great as a base layer for path mulching)
What will be provided
  • gloves
  • garden tools
  • hand sanitizer
We will be mulching paths in the gardens, pruning, watering, and planting.

Note that there are no bathrooms on site.

Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
  1. Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.

  2. Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
